Your Initial Consultation:
Your treatment begins with a personalized consultation, where one of our board-certified physicians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants will thoughtfully assess your facial anatomy, skin quality, and areas of concern while taking the time to understand your goals.
We will determine whether Sculptra® is appropriate for you, review your medical history and medications to ensure there are no contraindications, and discuss the expected course of treatment, including the gradual nature of results, potential risks, and associated costs. Your questions will be addressed, and a personalized treatment plan will be created to achieve natural, balanced results.
Preparing for Treatment:
As your treatment approaches, a few simple steps can help optimize your experience and minimize downtime.
To reduce the risk of bruising, we recommend avoiding alcohol and non-essential blood-thinning medications or supplements -- such as NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen), vitamin E, and fish oil -- for at least one week prior to treatment, if medically appropriate. Please consult with your prescribing physician before stopping any prescribed medications.
Arriving well-hydrated can support your treatment and recovery. If you have any changes in your health, active skin concerns, or questions prior to your appointment, we encourage you to reach out to your provider.
Day of Treatment:
On the day of your appointment, we begin by reviewing your treatment plan and ensuring everything is aligned with your goals. Clinical photographs are taken prior to treatment for assessment and to help guide your results over time.
The treatment area is then carefully cleansed and prepped using medical-grade antiseptic techniques to ensure a safe and sterile environment. Sculptra® is carefully placed using advanced techniques, including microcannulas, for a controlled and gentle approach. Local lidocaine injections are often used to enhance comfort throughout the procedure.
Treatment typically takes about 45 minutes, depending on the areas being addressed. You may notice some temporary fullness or mild swelling immediately after treatment, which is expected and typically subsides within a few days.
Because Sculptra® works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production, results develop gradually over time. Your medical provider will guide you on the recommended number and timing of treatments to achieve optimal, natural-looking results.
